It is a Roman Catholic Church with modern architecture, the most beautiful and largest church in Southeast Asia. It received the award for excellent architecture from the association of Siamese Architects under the Royal Patronage year 1996. At this place, visitors can experience artistic wax figures of the seven blessed martyrs, dedicating life in the sacred grove to prove their faith in God. Every year on October 22, there is a celebration commemorating the establishment of "Blessed Martyrs." On December 16 of each year, there is a ceremony to honor the blessed martyrs of Song khon.
The Christian Church at Wat Song Khon was a memorial to the seven blessed martyrs dedicating life in the sacred grove to prove their faith in God during the disputation between Thailand and France during World War 2. At that time, most of the people in the border area were Christian. Most of the priests were French, so the villagers misunderstood Christianity as a religion of France. It accused that the Christians were sympathetic to France, betrayed the nation including, causing many violent incidents. The government ordered the villagers to stop respecting Christianity, most villagers stopped, but some kept respected secretly. Sister Pila Thipsuk (age 31), Sister Khambang Srikhamfong (age 23), Mr. Sriphong Onpitak (age 33), Ms. Putta Wongwai (age 59), Ms. Budsee Wongwai (age 16), Ms. Khamphai Wongwai (15 years), and Porn Wongwai (14 years old), still acted as teaching teachers. They had not agreed with the police that they would stop, so the police took them all to shoot until they died.
